Some people seem to naturally excel at building deep, lasting connections. They attract meaningful relationships and maintain them with grace. But for many of us, it doesn’t come so easily.
I’ll never forget one of my early coaching conversations with a client who felt deeply disconnected. She had plenty of acquaintances but struggled to maintain meaningful bonds. Over time, she realized she wasn’t showing up with intent — she was simply hoping that relationships would fall into place. The moment she started living with purpose in her connections, everything shifted.
✨ Here’s the truth: it’s never too late to transform your approach to relationships and create the connections you truly desire.
To help you uncover your relationship purpose and build more meaningful bonds, I encourage you to explore the five questions below. Don’t overthink them — let your intuition and authentic self lead the way. And remember, imagine your answers “in the best of all possible worlds.”
Question 1: What Kind of Connection Lights You Up?
What type of interaction sparks your enthusiasm and makes you feel alive?
Deep, late-night conversations?
Shared adventures and new experiences?
Quiet moments of understanding without words?
Acts of service and support?Write down whatever energizes you most when you’re connecting with others.
Question 2: If Fear Were No Object, How Would You Show Up in Relationships?
If you had unlimited emotional courage, how would you engage?
Would you be more vulnerable?
Set clearer boundaries?
Express your needs more directly?
Take more initiative in reaching out?Be honest — these answers are for your self-discovery, not for anyone else.
Question 3: If You Could Design Your Perfect Relationship Day, What Would It Look Like?
Picture yourself spending time with people who matter most. Maybe it’s:
Intimate one-on-one conversation
Hosting a gathering where everyone feels valued
Cooking together, walking, or sharing quiet space
Write it out in vivid detail.
Question 4: What Do You Really Love Giving to Others?
Think about what fills you with joy when you offer it to others:
Emotional support
Making them laugh
Organizing experiences
Remembering details
Offering practical help
These are your unique relationship gifts.
Question 5: How Did You Connect as a Child?
Reflect back:
Were you the includer?
The one creating games?
The heart-to-heart sharer?
The helper through acts of kindness?
Our childhood patterns often reveal our most natural ways of connecting.
Pulling It Together
